Public Art

This winter Colorado Hardscapes’ Research and Development department explored new possibilities for art in concrete. As a premier decorative concrete contractor, Colorado Hardscapes’ passion for new and artistic approaches to concrete runs deep and is shown through its membership in organizations such as Bomanite® and Lithocrete®. Through Lithocrete, Colorado Hardscapes is introduced to, and excited about the possibilities of Lithomosaics.

Lithomosaics combine the art of mosaics with the durability and beauty of concrete through the Lithocrete process.

John Buteyn and David Zigterman of Colorado Hardscapes attended a training and demonstration of Lithomosaics in February and came back excited about the design potential and possibilities. Click here to view some photos from their California trip.

Lithomosaic is not new in the United States, but it has yet to be introduced in Colorado. Colorado Hardscapes hopes to implement this unique art system into public art projects in Colorado. Design After Dark

AECOM presented a unique piece for this year’s Design After Dark. Design After Dark is an event where the design community creates creative art pieces and holds a silent auction to support the Denver Art Museum. Colorado Hardscapes provided AECOM with some concrete guidance, materials, and equipment to create their masterpiece for the event. Congratulations to the AECOM team for a fantastic piece, showing that concrete can truly be artful.

Beer, Brats and Concrete

Are you looking for an excuse to duck out of work early on a Friday afternoon? What better excuse than to learn about concrete while enjoying an ice cold beer and brat straight off the grill? Come learn about the latest and greatest in decorative concrete, learn about the different options and see some of our new test panels.

Event and concrete demonstration starts promptly at 3:00 on Friday, April 27th. Brats will be grilling and beer chilling.

Space is limited to the first 20 registrants. You can expect to see more of these events this summer if there is a good response.
